Why does my site need to be mobile friendly?
- It’s now been officially released by Google that more searches take place on mobile than on desktop. In fact, this is mentioned on the site of their new tool.
- According to Google, people are five times more likely to leave a site if it isn’t mobile friendly.

Google’s new tool is incredibly easy to use, and really helpful in terms of optimising your website.
The tool rates your site out of 100 and informs you on mobile friendliness, mobile speed rates and desktop speed rates. Google also offer a free report, which gives you a full breakdown on how to improve your site, within 24 hours (as long as you agree to the occasional email).
The full breakdown is a list of things you need to do to ensure your website fits the criteria, it’s personalised to your site- it tells you what you’ve already got covered within that list and then gives you links to guides showing you how to do the things you’ve missed.
