No More Panda Updates Until 2012

Google tweeted last week that they will not be releasing any major updates to their current algorithm, Panda. Since 2003, Google has refrained from releasing major algorithm updates to ensure minimal disruption to online retailers during their busiest period. The reason for this is the catastrophic events that followed the release of an algorithm update on 16th November in 2003. The release resulted in a number of pages dissapearing from the results pages and others losing relevancy to the point where hundreds of retailers lost significant rankings.

To ensure this doesnt happen again, Google have since avoided major updates being released around the festive period, ensuring stability for all online retailers.

Its a shame that this wont help the electrical giant Comet, they have already sold earlier this month for £2 due to massive losses over the past year.
