Background

AMTEC had been working with POLARIS on SEO for a number of years, focusing on a single area of the business every year.

With a new site on the horizon and the business decision to rebrand, the business decided to invest into their already successful partnership and scale the SEO strategy to target a number of keyword groups at once.
After a successful rebrand and migration handled by POLARIS in June 2022, Ellis Machinery became AMTEC Group and the operation was scaled.

Focusing on customers who know exactly which brand and model they are looking for

The used machinery dealer wanted POLARIS to increase leads for their main sector generic categories, and also increase coverage for specific brands and models that are queried by customers specifically as they know exactly what they are looking for.

POLARIS engineered a 12 month strategy that gave the business the best of both SEO worlds; a split strategy focusing on longtail specific brand + model searches to drive specific intent searches to the site, and category level generic queries for users that were earlier in the funnel.

What we did

• Introduced over 100 dynamic brand + model pages to increase SEO through programmatic.
• Scope and opportunity analysis to feed into buying team 50 high-volume brand terms not currently targeted by the AMTEC group.
• Targeted high volume, generic search queries around categories and brands.
• Addressed indexing and crawl issues through sitewide pattern and contextual internal linking towards key pages.

• Further pushed top 5 terms to position 1 through topic modelling pages around buying intent.
• Targeted top 3 categories by stock and business value.
• Developed a campaign initiative called “The future of farming”, connecting the business directly with their target market of farmers nationally.
• Link acquisition through digital campaign with the creation of a “regenerative farming” survey and interactive infographic picked by leading tier-1 publications within the sector.
